Both names are correct. May also be called Resurrection Day or Resurrection Sunday.
Because if Jesus did not rise from the dead - then he did not return to send Paul on the 'road to Damascus' - this is why it is so important. No Resurrection = No commission = No Christianity!
We Christians have salvation only after Jesus died and rose again, after the resurrection.
Think so...........!
Christians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth, Who is the Messiah promised to the Jewish people thousands of years earlier (although most Jews have not yet seen that Jesus is the fulfillment of the prophecies of the Tanach) and Who's covenant was extended to gentiles through His rejection by the Jewish people (although the blinders will be removed from their hearts and they will share in the fulfillment of the covenant in due time). Jesus was executed by the Roman government almost 2000 years ago and came back to life two days later. The resurrection of Jesus is the foundation of the entire Christian religion. Therefore, Resurrection Sunday is the greatest celebration of the year for many believers.
The events surrounding Easter are the centralpart of the Christian faith. Jesus was executed on a Friday, but on the following Sunday, Christians believe, and a belief based on firm evidence, that Jesus Christ rose again. Because of this unique resurrection, Christ's divinity is proved and his life, teachings and claims validated. Easter Day is the commemoration and celebration of Christ's resurrection and so it is immensel important; some would also say that without the resurrection the Christian faith would not exist.
That is the central point of their spiritual beliefs and is what they base all of their hopes and studies on.
It's probably a part of their culture and society.
The resurrection of Jesus is the basis for Christianity; without it Christianity would not exist in its present form, if at all. So the resurrection is just as important today as it ever was.
Catholics celebrate Easter in celebration of the day Jesus rose from the dead after dying the previous Friday (Good Friday). The event marks the point at which all the prophecies about the Messiah are fulfilled, thus beginning the Catholic Church
Jesus left only two things for His disciples to do: baptise believers take bread and wine to remember Him. So these are the rituals that are important to Christians.
becaused it connotes that jesus had conquered sin and all men who believes are saved
