We choose to be obedient to God in all matters, whether simple and relatively unimportant, or more serious.

The Bible states in Acts that we are to "Abstain... from blood." It also says that this is a "necessary thing." (Acts 15:28, 29)

It is more imporatnt than our present life, because Jehovah can and will resurrect those who die faithful to him. Note this from John 12:25: "He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal." (KJV) Compare with Matthew 16:25 & Luke 17:33.

And John 11:25 says: "Jesus said unto her, 'I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.'"

Witnesses follow the leadership of their Governing Body based in Brooklyn who interpret Acts 15 to mean that transfusions of whole blood, red cells, white cells, plasma and platelets are not allowable. As long as these parts are broken down further then transfusions are allowed. For example haemoglobin is allowable because it only makes up 97% of the dry weight of a red cell.

It is not ours to give or take... blood = life ... and life belongs to God.

Firstly the 'faithful and discreet' slave class are the 7 men in Brooklyn that make up the Jehovah's Witnesses' Governing Body.

These men, the 'faithful and discreet slave' class, instruct Witnesses not to give blood, based on their understanding of Acts 15 (abstain from blood) and Witnesses believe they are obeying Jesus' direct commands as explained in the following quote,

Watchtower 1959 1st May p269

''To hold to the headship of Christ, it is therefore necessary to obey the organization that he is personally directing. Doing what the organization says is to do what he says. Resisting the organization is to resist him.''

Although Witnesses do not give or donate blood, some Witnesses' consciences will allow them to accept blood that non-Witnesses have donated as long as it has been split into smaller parts that they call fractions.

Luke 15:29 says: to keep abstaining from things sacrificed to idols, from blood, from what is strangled, and from sexual immorality. If you carefully keep yourselves from these things, you will prosper.

What are some movies about the Jehovahs Witnesses and their controversial Blood doctrines?

Which group does not allow blood transfusions because they believe that taking blood into the body is morally wrong?

The group is know as "Jehovah's Witnesses". They believe that receiving blood transfusions are the same as drinking blood, which is stickily forbidden in the old testament law and repeated in the new testament book of Acts where Gentile believers were to "they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication." The problem comes down to whither or not transfusions are drinking blood or not.

How was it scriptural for the Watchtower to allow blood transfusions for Bulgarian Jehovahs Witnesses in 1998 after signing a contract with Bulgaria before the European Commission for Human Rights?

I believe that you have been misinformed. Please, consider your source before making false accusations on the Witnesses. There is no answer to your question.

Are Jehovahs Witnesses at greater risk for not accepting blood transfusions?

No!In fact, some added benefits for not accepting the blood transfusion techniques. Please see LINK below; dated July 3, 2012Not necessarily. It would depend on the circumstances. As one of the links below suggests there can be benefits from surgeons performing cardiac operations and Witnesses have been shown to have a better recovery rate. However, as another link below suggests, in different circumstances it could mean that Witnesses are at greater risk for not accepting blood. It must be stressed though, that the 'no blood' policy of Jehovah's Witnesses has nothing at all to do with any perceived risks or benefits of blood transfusions. The policy is not based on medical reasons. Even if blood was proven to be 100% safe, or 100% fatal and there were no alternatives, Witnesses would still refuse blood.

When hospitalized are there any special procedures for Jehovahs witnesses?

Jehovah's Witenesses do not receive blood transfusions, for religious reasons. Depending therefore, on the reason for their hospitalization, various nonblood fluids volume expanders might be adminitstered when one might otherwise have been given blood. Other than that, Jehovah's witnesses, would expect the same level of care, consultation rights and legal protection as any other patient when in hospital.

Can jehovahs witnesses eat anything?

Yes - - minus any kind of blood; and I suppose human flesh (not even in emergency situations; ie a plane crash where others might decide to eat human flesh due to the dire situation; we would not. God did not give us blood to eat; neither human flesh.)
