Praying is the "humble and Faithful act" of a "believer" that is, for one thing, an acknowledgement of God's sovereignty over him... and all that exists. It's an admission to Him that we are mortal, dying... and not the all-powerful, independent "captains of our own destiny"... but that we need to "align and conform our will to His."

Prayer is personal communication with our Creator whereby we might both praise Him for his blessings on us... and/or cry out to Him to save us from life's trials. It's "talking to our Father in heaven"... getting to know Him. It's "Spiritual Bonding."

The very act of praying is CONTRARY to "human nature"... which is selfish, rebellious and hostile to the will of God.

"...the carnal mind [the natural heart and mind of man] is ENMITY [hostile] against God..." (Rom.8:7).

Indeed, God's will shall be done... but any man whom God finds "outside of His will" when He begins enforcing it on earth [see Matt.6:10] -- that is, any who refuse to humble themselves and bow to His will -- will be regarded by Him as His ENEMY: an undesirable and untenable position in which such rebellious men shall perish.

"...those Mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before Me. (Luke 19:27)

God is presently, for this allotted period of time that He's given to mankind, "inviting" men to acknowledge and worship Him, the Creator of all that is. He's calling those [elect, saints, servants, friends] whom He has predestined to humbly bow to His will... that they might grow and develop, spiritually, in Godly character, to attain to leadership offices and positions in His Kingdom, befitting their talents and training, when it finally comes to earth.

"...but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit [humble], and trembleth at My Word." (Isa.66:2)

We pray so that we might get to know the One who made the universe... because He is the One who is able to grant men immortality... to live forever with Him in His Family as His Children in the limitless universe He created.

Prayer is "intimacy between the Father and His Child." It's the Child's getting to know what He expects of His Children... learning His will... to know and understand the rules of His household, in order to live in His House with Him for Eternity with the rest of His Family [our future brothers and sisters; all of mankind].

God's will is for all of His Children to learn Mercy and Grace; to Love, Respect and Care about the well-being of others -- which is the opposite of man's selfish will, and the opposite of the will of this merciless, hate-filled, uncaring world that holds little or no regard for precious life.

God's Family is ONE [just as a husband and wife and their children are one; or should be]. God's Children pray so that they might get to "know their Father's will"... that they might willingly, lovingly and obediently conform to it -- and make His will THEIR WILL.

We pray for God's Glorious Kingdom [His Government] and His will to come to this earth [again, Matt.6:10]... so that we may delight in the global PEACE that would reign over all the earth; the way that Peace and God's Will already reigns in heaven.

"...the Government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His Government and Peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon His Kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with Judgment and with Justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts WILL PERFORM THIS." (Isa.9:6-7)

God's will shall indeed be done [with or without us]. But, Faithful, Humble men pray in order to learn to humbly conform to His will -- that they might live to see and enter into that Eternal Kingdom that's coming.

How do you chose a god in RuneScape?

You don't need to choose any one of the gods. To recharge prayer points, just pray at the altar of any one of the major gods. Unlike the religions on Earth, the gods of Gielinor don't mind if you pray at altars of different gods.
