Why wouldn't Muslims pray for peace? You might as well ask why Christians pray for peace. The majority of Muslims, like the majority of Christians are peace loving people who want to live a good life, provide for their families, improve themselves and their surroundings. There are, of course, idiots and hotheads in every community and they are the ones, unfortunately, who are so fanatical about their opinions that they make it difficult for everyone.
Islam means peace.
Muslims DO NOT PRAY TO MOHAMMAD (peace be upon him),Muslims pray to ALLAH.

Muslims are ordered to pray directly to ALLAH without any human or spiritual intermediaries. Muslims do not pray to anyone but ALLAH and they do so directly. An Imam may lead the prayers, but he does not pray on behalf of the others, to each his own prayer.
This depends entirely on the Muslim in particular. Muslims pray for everything from peace and prosperity for all on one end and for God to curse and destroy chosen targets on the other end. There are, of course, many Muslims somewhere in between on the spectrum. Muslims also often pray to improve their own spiritual connection to God and to properly recognize God's attributes both in God's being and in their own lives.
Muslims are not allowed to pray in whether it is a chapel or church. Muslims pray facing Qibla which is in Mecca.
