The events that occurred during the partition of Bengal were the separation of the Muslims and Hindus and the establishment of factories in east Bengal. Formation of the political affiliations based on the Muslims and Hindus are the other events that occurred during the partition of Bengal.
The religious differences between Muslims and Hindus in the Indian subcontinent after World War 2 led to the partition of India and the creation of Pakistan in 1947. This resulted in widespread violence, displacement of populations, and loss of life during the partition process.
Hindus and Muslims engaged in conflict as migrants moved between the two nations.
The partition of Bengal aroused fury among the Hindus. The Hindus thought that the partition of Bengal was an attempt to break the unity among the Hindus which might be a threat to the British Government. They thought that the British had applied their 'Divide and Rule Policy' meaning that the Hindus and the Muslims will keep on fighting with each other and the threat which the radical nationalism of the Hindus was disturbing the Britishers would come to an end. Consequently the Hindus' attempts to kick the British out of the Sub-continent and establish Hindu Rule would loose their solidarity and strength. Furthermore the Hindus could not bear to see the Muslims flourish and the partition of Bengal meant exactly that. It can also be seen that the Hindus wouldn't allow any degree of Partition of their Motherland, the India. This fact was confirmed by the height of opposition and objection to the Partition of India in 1947 from the Hindus.
The partition of the Indian subcontinent was based on religion, Pakistan had a majority of Muslims, while India had a majority of Hindus.
HINDUS AND MUSLIMS
one reason is the widespread unrest, the launching of swadeshi movement by Hindus and an assassination attempt on Lord Curzon.partition of Bengal was reversed in 1911 because Hindus protested against Lord Curzon.Hindus protested because they felt that partition of bengal is advantage for Indian Muslims, and Hindus did not want to see Muslims in superior position.Other reason was that the Hindus made swadeshi movement in which the boycott: 1:British goods and start buying Indian goods and this cause loss to Britishers. 2:Hindus withdrawn there children from schools. 3:They refuse to pay taxes. These reasons were the main reason of partition of Bengal was reversed in 1911. By:Ahsen Zafar
Mahatma Gandhi was considered a great man and a champion of Indian civil rights. It was through his non-violence platform that India achieved its independence from the British. During the struggle for independence, however, the Muslims did not want the mastery of the British to be replaced with the mastery of the Hindus. As a result, they stood firmly with Jinnah when he demanded an independent Pakistan for the Muslims. This led to the infamous partition, which saw thousands of Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, and other minorities lose their lives in communal strife. "An eye for an eye making the whole world blind" is a quote Gandhi used to describe the atrocities on all sides during partition.
Hindus fought with Muslims because many Hindu temples were destroyed during Islamic expansion.
