There would have been many witnesses. Two thieves were also crucified with Jesus and so their families and friends would also have been there. The Roman soldiers who performed and oversaw the crucifixion would also have been there. Also, passers by and onlookers would be there akin to the 'knitting hags' at the French Revolution Guillotine. The Bible records the Roman soldiers there who oversaw the crucifixion, many local people, and the few followers of Jesus who were brave enough to be there (the other disciples fled). Some were women who had travelled down from Galilee (Luke 23: 49). Some were the chief priests and temple officials (Mark 15:31). Others were passers by (Matthew 27: 39). At the foot of the cross it is recorded that many of the women came to witness the crucifixion too. These included included Mary Jesus' mother, Mary Magdalene, Salome (sister of Mary the Mother of Jesus although her name is not recorded in all the gospels), Mary the wife of Clopas (who may also have been the same 'Mary' as Mary the mother of James and Joses as recorded in Matthew's Gospel) the mother of Zebedee's sons, and one of Zebedee's sons himself - the disciple John. He records it himself in his own Gospel : John 19: 25. John, being the only Gospel writer to have been an actual eyewitness, rather on relying in interview (as in the case of, e.g. Luke) records the crucifixion in great detail, including the piercing of Jesus by a spear.
The women. Women were not considered reliable witnesses at that time.
Answer:
The actual "rising" of Jesus from the tomb wasn't witnesses by any "human," male or female.
Contrary to popular religious dogma... Jesus rose from the dead at the "same time of day" that He was buried, three days and three nights before: just before THE SUN WENT DOWN on Passover evening, which fell on our "Wednesday" that week.
Most people remain unaware to this day, that there were TWO SABBATHS that week; the day AFTER the Passover, which is called the "Feast" day [see Lev.23:6]... and the weekly seventh-day Sabbath, which they call the "Jewish Sabbath," and not "the Sabbath of the Lord" as the Commandment reads.
The "Lord," being Jesus Christ, the Creator God of the Old Testament [see John 1:3] who gave the Commandments to Moses to write down for us, today. Jesus, who IS THE LORD OF THE SABBATH [Mark 2:28].
Most modern professing Christian denominations generally reject God's commanded Holy Days that are recorded in their Bibles in Leviticus 23. And because of this, they've been taught that Jesus was murdered on our "Friday"... the day of the weekly "Jewish PREPARATION" of the weekly Sabbath, our "Saturday." And they know nothing about the Passover and the next day, which is the "Feast" day... the first day of Unleavened Bread.
They remain ignorant [willingly or otherwise] of the fact that that "preparation" day wasn't our "Friday evening" for the weekly Sabbath... but a "high day" [Holy Day] Sabbath preparation. As the sun was going down on that "Wednesday" evening [the Passover, the 14th of Nisan - Lev.23:5]... the "Preparation" for the Feast day [the day after Passover], our "Thursday" that week, was approaching. And the "law-abiding" Jews wanted to get all the dead bodies off those tree poles before the sun went down:
"If a man guilty of a capital offense is put to death and his body is hung on a tree, you must not leave his body on the tree overnight. Be sure to bury him that same day..." (Deut.21:22-23 NIV).
"Now it was the day of Preparation, and the next day was to be a special Sabbath [a Holy Day Sabbath, not the weekly 'Saturday' one]. Because the Jews did not want the bodies left on the crosses during the Sabbath, they asked Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies taken down." (John 19:31 NIV)
That places Jesus' resurrection, THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS AFTER OUR WEDNESDAY EVENING, on our "Saturday evening" just before sundown, at the same time of day He was entombed -- not on our "Sunday MORNING," or the first day of the week, as Matthew calls it [Matt.28:1].
The women didn't SEE Jesus "RISING" from the tomb... [present tense]. THEY WERE RESTING AT HOME ON SATURDAY, according to the Commandment. Instead, on the following morning AFTER the weekly Sabbath, Saturday, they saw "an empty tomb" with the sealed stone rolled away from the entrance.
And the angel that appeared to them said: "...He is RISEN..." [PAST participle of Rise]... not "RISING" [PRESENT tense]. Which only makes sense, since Jesus ROSE the evening before.
So, the only eyewitnesses to Jesus' actual "RISING" from the tomb would have been at least "one angel"... maybe more.
The women were the first to see the result of Jesus' resurrection: "the empty tomb" where Jesus was hastily laid before the sun went down three days and three nights earlier.
There were many people who witnessed Jesus carrying the cross. The roman soldiers , the priests, Mary Magdalene, John, Mary his mother, other people who Jesus knew and a mob of Jews.
The disciples witnessed Jesus' sinlessness, His miracle's, His compassion, His love for the Father in heaven and His love of human beings. Some witnessed His death on the cross and His burial and all witnessed His life after rising from the dead, and they witnessed His ascension into heaven.
