The people at a city called Antioch, visited many times by the Apostle Paul, are the first people to call themselves "Christians". I believe that the story is recorded in Acts, which records the early history of the Christian church. Acts 11:26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch. Antioch present name is "Antakya" and is located in Turkey.
Even though believers were first given the name 'Christian' at Antioch, they existed earlier in Jerusalem, immediately after the resurrection, which changed their doubt and fear and unbelief into true faith as they saw and interacted with the risen Christ.
The giving of the Holy Spirit with power to witness 'to the ends of the earth' certainly facilitated the preaching of the Gospel eventually at Antioch and many other places. Many see the event of Pentecost as the 'origin' of the Christian church.
probably Christ A christian is a person who follows Christ and his teachings, and also knows him, loves him, and has a personal relationship with him, and follows him. i do not think that Christ himself could have been all of these things. The first person that knows you and loves you is your mother, right? because your mother was the first person to know you existed inside her, and automatically loved you. Mary, Jesus mother, was the first person to know and love and serve Jesus, because she was the first person to know him and love him, being his mother. She even followed him and believed in him, even when he was upon the cross. Mary was the first Christian.
Jesus had been crucified and his followers had seen him resurrected and ascend to Heaven. Fifty days had passed since the Passover that followed His execution. All of this took place in and around Jerusalem, Israel .... a land populated mainly by Jews at that time. Jesus' followers were all Jewish. So, was Jesus. Fifty days following Passover, it was proper to observe the festival of Pentecost. Jews were arriving at Jerusalem from all over Asia Minor. Jesus' followers began to speak publicly about their experience with their risen Lord as they believed they had been filled with the Holy Spirit of God and directed to do so. As they spoke, the crowds around them were amazed. No matter where they were from, they understand the speakers as if the speakers were speaking the native tongue of the listener. This event has been described as miraculous. Three thousand people were converted to Christianity that day and they were probably all Jewish. So, whether you want to count the followers of Jesus as the first converts or the people converted on that day of Pentecost .... they were Jewish.

The establishment of the Catholic Church dates back to Apostolic times. In Christian antiquity there were many Christian believers who adhered to all that the Apostles believed and taught - these were the Catholics. There were other Christian believers who dissented from this or that teaching or practice, whom the Catholics called heretics.
