Homo sapiens, as a species, have been in existence for 8-10,000 years, depending on what you read about Homo neanderthalensis. Adam and Eve, then, would have had to be that species, since they walked and talked, if you want to throw them into it (uneccesarily, in my opinion). Almost all of the fossils pre-dating Homo sapiens come from Africa, though there is one species of Homo erectus who lived in China.
