Centaurs were savage creatures, except for one, the wise Chiron who was also the teacher of Hercules. In the cartoon version "The Mighty Hercules", Hercules had a loyal centaur friend called Newton.

Centaurs purposes were just to be magical creatures that are half horse half man. Chiron was a very wise centaur,unlike others who would always drink to much wine and have parties. Chiron taught many heroes such as Hercules and i think Perseus. But in conclusion centaurs were just creatures with fantastic archery skills.

Chiron was one of the Centaurs, barbarous beasts which were said to be half-horse and half-human. But unlike the others, Chiron was extremely wise and tutored Hercules and Jason. Unfortunately, Hercules accidentally wounded Chiron. The immortal centaur, in great pain, pleaded with the gods to end his suffering. Zeus mercifully let him die and gave him a place among the stars.
