Ruth Delmarie Thorne is a life coach dedicated to spiritual and cultural understanding while working with battered and underprivileged women. Ruth owned a restaurant and subsequently sold it after the birth of her child, deciding to serve as a stay-at-home mother. She later opened her doors to underprivileged women and others in need of assistance. As a life coach, she developed a self improvement system which she called The Experiment, integrating math, Kabbalah, and Quantum Thought into a New Approach. Her life coaching skill was noted by students who described her as a "midwife to the spirit" and a "noor" (meaning "light").
Early Life: Ruth attended both public and private schools, where she learned to relate to people of different socio-economic backgrounds. She is the daughter of a Puerto Rican mother and Guyanese father. She had close relationships with both of her grandmothers, whom she remembers as women of strong temperament and character.
Her paternal great-grandfather was a recognized historical figure named A.A. Thorne. A.A. Thorne was a highly educated Latin and Greek scholar who received advanced degrees with honours from a British University in the 1890s after earning the top national score on the British college exams in Barbados. Celebrated as a "Champion of the People" in the Caribbean region, A.A. Thorne created lasting impact as an elected public official, educator, and community leader. He negotiated the first economic alliance across the various nations of the Caribbean region. He formed and led one of the first human rights & worker's rights organizations in the Caribbean region at a time before human rights laws and labor unions existed. He established a middle school in Guyana focused on providing underprivileged youth access to quality education. He was also a dedicated father whose ten children became accomplished doctors, professors, engineers and business leaders.
