From what i have learned from my local church, there are four types of people. 1. Beginning God - Elementary school 2. Exploring God - Middle School 3. Close to God - High School 4. God Centered - College From what i understand, the type of people that go to heaven are the ones that are God Centered. God centered is kind of like college, where you have to do most of your work at home. God centered means that God is the center of your life, your spouse, and you would never leave him. Anyone who dies without repenting his sins is in danger of going to hell. This repentance can be achieved in sacramental confession, perfect contrition or some other way known to the Holy Spirit. It is also necessary to have believed in God (even at the hour of death...in fact many hardened atheists cry for God's mercy at their last agony).

All people will go to heaven (The Spirit world) on the day of judgement. After the judging, all will be allotted their various kingdoms which they have earned for themselves by their deeds done on the earth.(Not by grace alone as some think, but by grace and works). Beliefs on what happens when you die vary from denomination to denomination.
