the devil or Satan as people say was against Jesus for the whole time. but the religious leaders in Jesus' time was also against him for they did not believe that he really was the son of god. so yeah...also that guy that turned Jesus in...uh...i think his name was Judas Iscariot yeah, he was the one that betrayed Jesus.
At the time of Jesus, Caesaria was the political capital of Israel, but Jerusalem was the religious capital.

Judaism in NT times was diverse with Pharisees, Sadducees, and Herodians. One man was called a Zealot. Other sources point to the Essenses.
Groups that like to thumb their nose at the constitution, usually right wing religious groups, are against the FFRF because they have successfully taken these groups to courts several time to stop their illegal law breaking. Curious..are you against the Americans United for Separation of Church and State? They are a group just like the FFRF, they champion the same causes that FFRF does...but the difference, is that AU is a Christian group.

The Pharisees (religious leaders of the Jews at the time) did not like Jesus for many reasons:They thought that what he was saying was blasphemousThey were scared that he would start a rebellion against the Romans (If the Jewish people rebelled, the Romans would blame the Pharisees for the uprising and kill them)
He systematically opposed Calvinism, which was popular at the time.
He was perceived as a threat to the religious and political establishment and under the political/religious laws at the time, was sentenced to death.
Rome ruled the Holy Land during Jesus' time so anyone in power--political and religious had to cooperate with Rome. Messianic religions which called for the overthrow of Rome's rule were suppressed and/or controlled.
Jesus does not have anything against lambs as He is at one time referred to as the Lamb of God. What is important to note is how a lamb behaves when going to the slaughter. It has no objections and Jesus typifies that when He was offered as a sacrifice.
Intense opposition came against Jesus from the religious leaders of Judea. These appear to have wielded greater influence over the Judeans than over the Galileans. Already from Passover time of 31 C.E. onward Jesus was no longer safe in Judea. (John 5:1, 16-18; 7:1)
