In the New Testament book of Luke, chapter 4 verse 24 (KJV) it reads: And He said, Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country. What Jesus was saying was that because people from His home town knew Him they could not believe that He was the Messiah. They had seen Him grow up and all they knew Him as was, Mary's son or Joseph's son and that He was a carpenter. Here's the best way for me to explain it. True story. 6 months age I went to the local dentist. He had his new partner come in and work on my teeth. It was a dentist that I had known since he was a young boy. I could only think of him as a young boy and not someone that was going to fix my broken tooth.
