Buddhism can be practiced ANYWHERE in the world. It is easier to practice buddhism in the eastern countries however buddhism is now starting to grow in America and other countries over in the west. There is no set place where buddhism should be practiced because it is more of a way of life, not as much a religion.
Buddhism is the most practiced religion in Laos, followed by a significant portion of the population. There are also smaller communities of Christians and followers of traditional animist beliefs in the country.
It mixes with Japanese Buddhism, or Zen Buddhism. there are other types of buddhism, but not that are practiced in Japan.
