ANSWER :the prey in temples or places were they can find sanctuary
Buddhists pray at a Buddhist temple. They also sometimes meditate there.
Anywhere and everywhere, but Buddhist prayer is completely different than prayer in the Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam).

In the Abrahamic religions a person prays to god or some saint for insight, or forgiveness or for some action to be taken on their behalf. That is, they are praying for some supernatural being to intercede for them.

In Buddhism a prayer is more like a mantra in which the person praying is reciting a lesson (sutra) or guideline which tells them how to behave and act. For example, a prayer for compassion is "may all beings be well, happy and peaceful". The idea behind this prayer is for the person praying to develop compassion and loving kindness to all. Therefore prayer in Buddhism is self-directed.

Devotees pray in temples largely because of fellowship, a common place of devotion or perhaps the atmosphere (or some cases the energy is better) is more condusive. Practising Buddhists do 3 things; they pray, they contemplate and they meditate. To pray is to talk with the mind. To contemplate is to listen to the mind. To meditate is to observe the mind. Anywhere that you can talk to your mind is a good place.

What day do Buddhists pray?

First, to "pray" you have to have a deity to pray to. Buddhism has no deities so Buddhists never pray. They do meet together to receive teachings, sermons, chant, think, meditate, reflects, remember. They do this as often as local cusom dictates, schedules permit, personal desires require, or never. There is no specific day (like the Moslem Friday, the Jewish Saturday or the Christian Sunday) to do this.
