At any wedding then, the more wine the better the marriage was blessed and the Parents of the Wedding Party were considered in high esteem if the wine did not run out. Mary spoke to Jesus because his cousin's wine skins were becoming empty. He told her to fill them with water. She did as he told her and he turned the Water into Wine. The first miracle Jesus performed, I believe.

Who controls the wedding invitation list?

Financially speaking, the reception hall controls the wedding invitation list. The occupancy limit of the reception hall will determine the maximum number of people can attend the reception. As far as who can invite how many people, that is an agreement that the bride's side and the groom's side have to negotiate.A.In a traditional wedding, the Father of the Bride pays for the wedding , and has some say as to what he can afford. He then turns the wedding planning over to the bride or the couple. It is up to the planner to determine how many guests there will be, and will rent a reception hall based on the number of guests to attend . The hall has no financial responsibility except to provide whatever services they have been contracted for.

If you attend the wedding or the reception you should give a gift. It's not required and you don't have to give anything if you don't want to. ---- In polite society, gifts are NOT to be expected. Giving a gift is optional whether you received a gift from them or not, whether you go to the reception or not. The invitation is to join them in celebrating the event.
