History and Scripture reflect that Peter, as chief administrator of the Apostles, was headquartered in Babylon (note that Rome was not referred to as modern Babylon (1 Peter 5:13) until after Peter's death in Revelation 17). In his more than 30 years of ministry (circa 31-65, at most 67 AD), he primarily preached to the Jews (see Galatians 2:7-8) in the northern half of Asia Minor (see 1 Peter 1:1).
Peter and the other Apostles were to bring the message of the Kingdom of God or 'Good News' to the Lost tribes of Israel. It was Christ command to these to continue His work in these areas (see Matthew 10:5-6) but for the Gentiles, He selected Paul to preach to them (see Acts 9:15; 18:6).
Peter, in his travels appears to have gone to Britain where he spent much time converting many:
"Metapirastes, the Greek historian, reports that Peter was not only in these WESTERN parts - the Western Mediterranean - but particularly that he was a long time - here we have Peter main life work to the Lost Ten Tribes - ... a long time in BRITAIN, where he converted many nations to the faith. (See marginal note, p. 45, in Cave's "Antiquitates ApostolicaeÂ.Peter preached the gospel in Great Britain.
Lastly, there is no historical evidence that the Apostle Peter ministered in Rome or is currently buried there. In fact Bedes Ecclesiastical HistoryÂ, bk. III, ch. 29 records Pope Vitalian, in 656 AD, sent his bones to King Oswy of Britain along with other 'saints' relics.
