The requirements to be considered for the position of pope - one must be a male Catholic. That pretty much eliminates a Jew from consideration. The only way it could happen would be if the person was an ethnic Jew who had converted to Catholicism. Saint Peter was a Jew before he became a Catholic. Does that count?
Christian. He's the head of the Catholic church.
You are considered a Jew if your mother was a Jew. You are a Catholic if you were baptised in a Catholic Church. So it is entirely possibly to be a Jew who is a Catholic.
Jesus was Jewish, as were all members of the one Church of Christ shortly after Jesus died, including the apostles. Peter and Paul opened the church to everyone, not just Jewish people, since Jesus died for all. The church became "catholic", which means "open to all, universal" However, since the Great Schism, and particularly the Reformation, some people protested against corruption and evil within the Church and so these 'Protestants' now have their own churches such a the Anglican Church, Lutherans, Methodists and so on. So while these churches can still be called 'catholic' (with a small 'c') meaning universal, they are not part of the Roman Catholic Church, the branch of the Christian Church that is still under the authority of the Pope.
The Roman Catholic Religion originally came from Judaism. All the founding members of the Church were Jews. Our Blessed Lord, Himself, was a Jew, and His apostles were all Jews. The "Roman" part of it comes from the fact that the first Pope, Peter, went to Rome, which was the center of the civilized world at that point in history, and the Church has spread out from Rome to cover the world. "Roman" is an epithet first commonly used in England after the protestant revolt to describe the Catholic Church. It is never used by the Catholic Church.
She was a devout Roman Catholic and went to church regularly. --- That is probably the right answer. Altough, she did not go to curch THAT regulary. ---
Joseph died a Jew as he passed away before Our Lord founded the Christian religion.
No. Kevin Rudd claims allegiance to Christianity. He was raised a Roman Catholic, and now attends an Anglican church.
She was a Catholic.
Jesus was born among the Jews as they were God's chosen people. After Jesus rose from the dead his followers (Jew, gentile, etc.) who believed his word became known as Christians. Catholic means universal (God's message was for all) the word used to describe God's church was first recorded at antioch in the early 100s.
He was a jew
Hitler was not a Jew, he was a Roman Catholic.
A Jew is a person who follows the religion of Judaism. As the Church of England is Christian, the answer would be no.
