Vocations as in job? No, not really. About the only mention of jobs are that Paul was a tentmaker, 4 of the apostles were fishermen. Paul does exhort us to labor saying "If a man will not work, neither let him eat."
Will you please clarify your question? Paul was held in prison, and many more. But what were the surrounding circumstances of this in particular?
In Ephesians Paul stated in lieu of other things "to be filled with the Spirit". Specifically chapter 5 verse 18.
