The New Testament does not oppress women. What ever you read in the New Testament and think is oppression of women may be the customs of the people of that time
The Old Testament is the group of books that deal with history from the beginning of the universe up to about 300 years before Christ. The New Testament is the group of books that deal with Jesus and the apostles that spread the Gospel throughout the known world. Theologically, the Old Testament is all about God's wrath and the rigidity of the Law. It explains what sin is and what happens if someone sins. The New Testament is exactly what its name implies: a new testament, or new covenant/agreement between two parties. These two parties would be God and mankind. The new covenant is this: The law from the Old Testament is fulfilled in Jesus. No longer does mankind have to obey everything in it. Jesus advocates for Man in the heavenly court. The New Testament explains how this came about, and how this changes how mankind lives in this new age.
