Mark's Gospel refers to a disciple called Simon the Cananaean, which is ambiguous, possibly meaning he was a Canaanite (preferred by the King James Bible), that he was from the village of Cana or that he was a former Zealot.
In copying from Mark, Matthew's Gospel resolves this as 'Canaanite', while Luke's Gospel says 'Simon the Zealot'.
Nobody knows. Simon the zealot's name was only mentioned in the bible. Unfortunately nothing else is known about him other than a few traditions and legends (most of which contradict each other).
There is no record of his wife or family in the Bible.
There are no quotes in the Bible from Simon Zelotes, as far as I can see.

He was called a zealot because of his devotion to her.
There is no mention of Simon the Zealot in the Bible, though there are a few Simons mentionedAnother answer:Simon "called the Zealot" (or Zelotes - KJV) is mentioned twice in the New Testament, in Luke 6:15 and Acts 1:13. Both instances are rosters of Jesus' apostles. The purpose of specifically referring to him as the Zealot was probably no more than to distinguish him from Simon Peter. No mention is made of what his "job" was.
is there any metal detector company by the name "Zealot"
No, "zealot" was not a term applied to the twelve, though it can rightly be said that they were "zealous" for Jesus.Only one of Jesus' twelve, a second Simon (not Peter), was known as "the zealot" (Luke 6:15).
