I believe it would be appropriate to say that Quetzalcuatl was a human being in the same way that Jesus Christ, Buddha, or Mohammad were and that he too was attributed by his believers with theomorphic qualities. Understand that I am not suggesting that any of these historic figures were or were not God. The question asks what kind of God he was. The use of past tense suggests that you at least understand that the nature of his having been a God is largely dependant upon the existence of those that would believe in him. This is apparently true of all of the historic figures listed here. Bear in mind that for those that believe in any of these historic figures and accept them as God, the faith itself serves to validate their Godly existence with absolute certainty above and beyond the alleged truth of any of the others. Thus, all human forms of God, if you will, are theomorphic.
