The fact that the number of neurons in gastrointestinal tract are more in number than the number of neurons in the spinal cord, suggested to me that VAMANA [which means induced vomitting] can stimulate the gastrointestinal tract from within and stimulate hormones secretion from gastrointestinal tract and also from pancreas. I thought this reflex stimulation could be useful in the teatment of diabetes mellitus. I tried it on myself. Apart from immediate relief from acidity, giddiness, throbbing headache, sinusitis, expectoration, uneasiness from gastric discomfort; I found it useful [though I can not prove it scientifically as I have not excluded other factors] in diabetes mellitus. I simply a. drink about a liter of water after either on empty stomach or after food and b. bend over the commode and stimulate my palate with fingers. This induces vomiting. Excepting initial hesitation and apprehension I found this procedure very safe and effective. This is my experience only, and neither a scientific study NOR an advice. However, it may stimulate the study, research, clinical trials, judicious and careful practice and benefits of VAMANA in diabetes and other conditions, apart from stuffy nose, acidity, giddiness and uneasiness associated with gastric discomfort.
Actually there are 9 avatars of Vishnu; Matsya the fish Kurma the tortoise Varaha the boar Narashimha the man-lion Vamana the dwarf Rama the prince Krishna the ideal human Buddha the yogi Kalki the warrior (he has not come yet but is predicted to return on a white horse at the end of time)
