I have always been taught that Pentecost Sunday is the most important feast of the year. It is the birthday of the Church and celebrates the descent of the Holy Spirit on the apostles that stimulated them to come out of hiding and begin preaching the Gospel. If Pentecost had never happened, the Church would have died before it started. Easter and Christmas, in that order, are the second and third most important feasts.
