Christians pray to God and practice a hierarchy within the Church, especially in Catholic and Orthodox sects. Buddhism does not include praying to a god; instead, one is required to practice mastering the karmic law of cause and effect. Some individuals consider themselves to be both Buddhists and Christians, but classic Christianity rules that out as being impossible (since the Bible teaches that Jesus is the only way to salvation, and that Christians should have no other god other than the God of the Bible). An excellent summary is available gospelway dot com / religiousgroups/buddhism dot php
The difference between Buddhism and Christianity is the same difference between Christianity and all other religions. In a nutshell, Christianity believes that all people have sinned against a holy, righteous, and just ( judge) God. Because God is just, He must judge all that commit sin (which is everybody no matter how how good they think they are), therefore all people are deserving of hell. But our hope of salvation to go to heaven and to be with God lies within His Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus suffered on the cross and died for the sins of those would believe in Him and put their faith in Him as their LORD and Savior. After He died, God, the Father, raised Jesus from the dead, vindicating Him; He ascended into heaven where He is seated at the right hand of God, the Father.
For those that don't put their faith in Christ, they will die in their sins and will be punished for eternity in hell. For those who put their faith in Christ, their sins will be imputed on Christ as payment for your sins.
That is Christianity in the smallest nutshell I could make. It dives MUCH deeper than that.
At the most basic level the difference is this: Buddhism is a non-theistic religion which does not require a God of any kind while Christianity is a theistic religion.
If you are talking about the difference between a person who is Buddhist and one who is Christian, it is impossible to answer. Not all people act the same despite the labels you put on them. Some Buddhists eat meat some Christians don't. Some Christians are pacifists some Buddhists not. If you are talking about the Religions as they exist, then again you are talking about sects and schisms which provide a wide range of corresponding and conflicting beliefs. Some Buddhists have a wide range of god like beings they pay attention to, some Christian sects are pretty much limited to just one (no Trinity)
The differences then come down to the fact that Buddhism is a Dravidian faith based on concepts, images and traditions of countries like India. Christianity, along with Judaism and Islam, are Abrahamic faiths based on Middle Eastern cultural norms and memes.
Aside from that you can nit pick the differences "everyone knows about" but this cannot be generally applied to the religions or followers..
The only similarity is a general feeling that you'll be happier and the world will be better if you are "good". "Good" however is difficult to pin down.
