"Creationist" specifically refers to someone who believes the earth was created by god in 6 (realtime) days, about 6000 years ago, as described in Genesis. "Fundamentalist" refers more broadly to someone who takes a literal interpretation of their sacred text overall. While these two categories often overlap, they are appropriate for different discussions, and it is possible to be one but not the other. "Creationist" really only comes up in discussions of evolutionary theory, while "fundamentalist" can be relevant in most religious and political discussions.
