COGIC does not hold the position of eternal security, such as the Baptist denomination does.
Because Jesus Christ established the Catholic Church as necessary for salvation. If someone rejects the Catholic Church, they are rejecting the salvation that comes from Jesus Christ. However, if someone is invincibly ignorant of Christ and His Church as necessary for salvation, then they are not really rejecting the Catholic Church. Therefore, they could be (in one sense) "in" the Catholic Church without even knowing it. If people in this situation cooperate with whatever grace they have, it is possible that they could go to heaven without being formally in the Catholic Church. However, those who are saved in this manner are still saved by Jesus Christ through His Catholic Church, because they are "in" the Catholic Church by desire, having never rejected it and having tried to follow God to the best of their ability.
Salvation refers to being saved from sin and its consequences through faith in Jesus Christ. Redemption, on the other hand, emphasizes being bought back or rescued from bondage or slavery. While salvation focuses on deliverance from sin and eternal separation from God, redemption emphasizes the price paid to secure that deliverance.
Indirectly it can be said that the body of Christ is the church. The church is built upon the prophets and apostle, Christ being the chief corner stone.
For casting out demons, healing the sick, teaching the Word of God to people on earth. For being flogged. For being nailed to the cross. For dying on the cross. For paying the sins of people. For establishing the true Church that is assured of salvation.
They Don't. no one can earn salvation through actions. The church was made by Jesus Christ as a place and time to worship the father and have encouragement from fellow brothers in Christ, also on the first day of the week it's a time to reflect on the sacrifice that Jesus made to save us from our sins. Church means, An Assembly of Christians. Not the building that has the steeple. Many people mestake the Church as being the place of worship not the people themselfs. Catholics are not christians see this question for more details {are Catholics the same as christians?}
No. Jesus is your Savior, your God, your King and Lord, but not your husband. The Bible talks about the Church being the bride of Christ, but even by being a member of the Church, you are not entering into the sacrament of matrimony with Jesus. Incidentally, Catholic nuns are symbolically wed to Jesus, but they are still considered single, celibate and Jesus is not their actual husband.
Yes, definitely. The Catholic Church teaches that wherever there is goodness then there is the potential of being saved, regardless of religion.
Loli dontknowThe Apostle Paul described the church as the Body of Christ. Christ being the Head.There are many Scriptures pertaining to this fact. Colossians 1:18, "And He (Christ) is the head of the body, the church........"
When you see a church called the "Church of Christ", it is not a Mormon congregation. The Churches of Christ is a different Christian denomination. The "Mormon" church did call itself the 'Church of Christ' for the first few years of it's existence, but then changed to be called the 'Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' to avoid being confused with this other group. So, "Mormon" is a nickname for the 'Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints'. The 'Church of Christ' is a different group. Both the 'Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' and the 'Church of Christ' began in New England during the Second Great Awakening, and both consider themselves to be Restorationist Christian Churches. Because of this, they do have some similar beliefs.
In the realm of the church, (being a building, occupied by a number of believers of a certain denomination; not the church as described by Christ as His followers, i.e. Christ being the head of the church. It is taught that all are born into sin and death, receiving their release from enternal separation from God through death by obtaining salvation (accomplished by the death, resurrection and ascension of Christ to be seated at the right hand of God).With this description, those born into this world must suffer the injustices of life; disability being one the them; as are cancer, murder, molestation, theft, homosexuality, and the list goes on...As one who suffers the results of being disabled; I long for the day when this infirmity will no longer effect me in a place promised after my death; that being Heaven.
You don't, but it may be helpful.The Orthodox view:You need the Church because it was established by Jesus Christ, "I will build My church" (Matt: 16:18). The church is also the special place where God is worshipped and people can receive Holy Communion which is essential for eternal life (John 6:53-54).The Church is necessary for our salvation, "the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved" (Acts 2:47).
