There are many churches with the name Christ Community Church. It is a very popular name for a church. Most churches with that name are independent and have their own stories about how and where they began. There is a denomination called the Community of Christ. This church split from the main branch of Mormonism (the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) in the 1840's. Mormonism began in upstate New York, and the Community of Christ split off in Illinois, then moved to Missouri shortly after.
