A baptism is how a Christian says that he is saved, and that he is not ashamed of it. Most are baptised, immersed, in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. John the Baptist was the one who baptized Christ, during which the Holy Ghost was there in the form of a dove, as well as the Father, with Him stating His approval of His Son from the opened clouds. Therefore, all members of the Trinity were there.

In a baptism, there are many rites especially for things like baptismal vows and for the vows that the godparents and parents will bring up the child in the Faith. However, the most important part of the baptism is the priest saying, "I baptize you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit". He does this while either pouring water on the head or immersing the person in water.
