Krishna is the sanskrit word for God just like Christos is the Greek for Christ. Krishna is considered the Supreme Lord. Krishna is the most opulent, attractive, powerful, and is within everything. Krishna is the absolute truth.

Krishna is an incarnation or avatar of Lord Vishnu. Vishnu is one of the main gods that makes up the holy trinity along with Shiva, and Brahma. Vishnu is a compassionate god that cares about the human race so much he sometimes interferes by reincarnating himself as an avatar to save the human world. There are 10 avatars total, 9 have already appeared, Krishna was the 8th. Krishna was a naughty child that grew up to be a cow herder and slay various demons. He was a hero and a teacher. Krishna adores devotees and is therefor there as a sort of middleman to the divine. Krishna is also referred to the lover of the Gopikas (milkmaids) and his relationship with his favorite Gopi is supposed to represent the soul's relationship with god. In Sanskrit Krishna translates to "black", or "dark" (Krishna had dark blueish black skin). Some traditions say the name means "all attractive". Another explanation is that the name means the "existence of knowledge and bliss".

'Brahman' is the main God in Hinduism/Sanatan Dharma who is formless and infinite.

The trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva is a manifestation or forms of this God to represent the Creator, Preserver and Destroyer respectively.

Krishna being the incarnation of Vishnu saves and preserves Dharma from evil.

However, Vaishnavism - a school of Hinduism and group such as ISKCON believe that Krishna is the Supreme Lord 'Brahman'.

Hare Krishna signifies Hari, the creator god in Vaishnava Hinduism. He's referred to as Vishnu, Krishna (Krsna), and Narayana as well. His eternal consort is Hara.
