Jews don't celebrate anything instead of Christmas. This is because Jesus plays no role whatsoever in Judaism, therefore there is no Jewish holiday to celebrate him.

Some people mistakenly believe that Channukah is the "Jewish Christmas", however, this couldn't be further from the truth. Channukah celebrates the rejection of forced assimilation, celebrating Christmas would directly violate the meaning of Channukah.

There is no "Jewish Christmas". The Jewish Savior is not yet born. If perhaps you are asking about Hanukkah, this is a holiday that occurs around the same time as Christmas but shares no similarities in terms of meaning or purpose. So, Hanukkah is not celebrated INSTEAD of Christmas, which would indicate that it is a replacement or corollary to Christmas, but is actually a wholly different celebration.

Nothing. "Instead" implies that one thing is replacing another or that the two are corollaries of one-another. This is not the case. Jews celebrate Hanukkah contemporaneously with Christmas, but these holidays are different in celebration, meaning, and purpose. They have nothing in common other than that they are both in December.

Jewish children, like Jewish adults, celebrate Hanukkah. Hanukkah is not celebrated on the same date every year, but it is around the time of Christmas. Hanukkah and Christmas are totally separate observances.
