AnswerProphet Muhammad (PBUH) was in charge of:
  1. Announcing and conveying the Quran message
  2. Teaching people and guiding them to the right path
  3. Promising the believers and monotheists with good God rewards and warning the atheists and polytheists.
  4. Serving as a real human model for the good morals and ethics that anyone should follow in his life
  5. Being witness

As detailed below:

  • Announcing and conveying the Quran message, real words of God (Allah in Arabic), to the people of the world. These God words were revealed by God to prophet Muhammad through the Angel Gabriel (Jibril); started in year 610 AD through year 632 AD (year of prophet Muhammad death).

Quran says:

Meaning English translation:

{ O Messenger, announce that which has been revealed to you from your Lord, and if you do not, then you have not conveyed His message. And Allah will protect you from the people. Indeed, Allah does not guide the disbelieving people. (67)}

[Quran, chapter 5, verse 67]

and says

كَذَٰلِكَ أَرْسَلْنَاكَ فِي أُمَّةٍ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِهَا أُمَمٌ لِّتَتْلُوَ عَلَيْهِمُ الَّذِي أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ وَهُمْ يَكْفُرُونَ بِالرَّحْمَـٰنِ ۚ قُلْ هُوَ رَبِّي لَا إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْهِ مَتَابِ ﴿٣٠﴾ {We have sent you to a nation before whom there lived many nations so that you would read to them what We have revealed to you. They still deny the existence of the Beneficent God. Say, "He is my Lord besides whom there is no other God. I trust Him and turn to Him in repentance." (30)} [Quran, chapter 13, verse 30]

and says:

{ Indeed, in this [Qur'an] is notification for a worshipping people. (106) And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds. (107) Say, "It is only revealed to me that your god is but one God; so will you be Muslims [in submission to Him]?" (108) But if they turn away, then say, "I have announced to [all of] you equally. And I know not whether near or far is that which you are promised. (109)}

[Quran, chapter 21, verses 106-109]

and says:

{He who obeys the Messenger has obeyed Allah; but those who turn away - We have not sent you over them as a guardian. (80)}

[Quran, chapter 4, verse 80]

  • Teaching people and guiding them to the right path

Quran says:

Meaning English translation:

{Certainly did Allah confer [great] favor upon the believers when He sent among them a Messenger from themselves, reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book and wisdom, although they had been before in manifest error. (164)}

[Quran, chapter 3, verse 164]

  • Promising the believers and monotheists with good God rewards and warning the atheists and polytheists.

Quran says:

Meaning English translation:

{ And with the truth We have sent the Qur'an down, and with the truth it has descended. And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a bringer of good tidings and a warner. (105) }

[Quran, chapter 17, verse 105]

and says:

{And We have not sent you except comprehensively to mankind as a bringer of good tidings and a warner. But most of the people do not know. (28)}

[Quran, chapter 34, verse 28]

  • Serving as a real human model for the good morals and ethics that anyone should follow in his life. You find in prophet Muhammad (PBUH) the models for the boy, the orphan, the poor, the rich, the merchant, the buyer, the seller, the borrower, the warrior, the peace seeker, the brother, the companion, the traveler, the worshiper, the husband, the father, the grand father, the state man, the judge, the leader, the ruler, ....

Quran says:

Meaning English translation:

{A Messenger from your own people has come to you. Your destruction and suffering is extremely grievous to him. He really cares about you and is very compassionate and merciful to the believers. (128)} [Quran, chapter 9, verse 128]

and says:

{ (Muhammad), you are not insane, thanks to the bounty of your Lord. (2) You will certainly receive a never-ending reward. (3) You have attained a high moral standard. (4)} [Quran, chapter 68, verses 2-4]

  • As witness:

Quran says:

Meaning English translation:

{ So how [will it be] when We bring from every nation a witness and we bring you, [O Muhammad] against these [people] as a witness? (41) }

[Quran, chapter 4, verse 41]

and says:

{And [mention] the Day when We will resurrect among every nation a witness over them from themselves. And We will bring you, [O Muhammad], as a witness over your nation. And We have sent down to you the Book as clarification for all things and as guidance and mercy and good tidings for the Muslims. (89) Indeed, Allah orders justice and good conduct and giving to relatives and forbids immorality and bad conduct and oppression. He admonishes you that perhaps you will be reminded. (90)}

[Quran, chapter 16, verses 89-90]

and says:

{And thus we have made you a just community that you will be witnesses over the people and the Messenger will be a witness over you...}

[Quran, chapter 2, verse 143]

More information

Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is the last prophet of God Almighty sent to the world after Jesus (PBUH), he will be the prophet untill judgement day and no other prophet will be sent to this world by God Almighty.

Jesus (PBHU) and Moses (PBUH) prophesized Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) in both Old and New testaments which Christians altered and changed it to vague and different interpretation. Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is also prohesized in Hinduism, Buddahism and Parsism.( see prophet Mohammad (PBUH) in world religious scriptures below)

The three monotheistic religions - Judaism, Christianity, and Islam - all purport to share one fundamental concept: belief in God as the Supreme Being, the Creator and Sustainer of the Universe. Known as Tawhid in Islam, this concept of the Oneness of God was stressed by Moses in a Biblical passage known as the "Shema" or the Jewish creed of faith:

"Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord." (Deuteronomy 6:4)

It was repeated word-for-word approximately 1500 years later by Jesus when he said:

"...The first of all the commandments is, Hear, OIsrael; the Lord our God is one Lord." (Mark 12:29)

Muhammad (PBUH) came along approximately 600 years later, bringing the same message again:

"And your God is One God: There is no God but He, ..."(The Quran 2:163)

Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) in Old Testament

The Qur'an mentions in Surah Al-Araf chapter 7 verse 157:

"Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find mentioned in their own (scriptures) in the law and the Gospels"

Almighty God speaks to Moses in Book of Deuteronomy chapter 18 verse 18

"I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto you, and I will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him."

It's mentioned in the book of Deuteronomy 18:19

"If anyone does not listen to my words that the prophet speaks in my name, I myself will call him to account. "

It's mentioned in the book of Deuteronomy 18:20

" But a prophet who presumes to speak in my name anything I have not commanded him to say, or a prophet who speaks in the name of other gods, must be put to death."

Prophet Mohammad (PUH) preached the oneness of God for 23 years but was not killed by anyone. He did complete his job. Allah (swt) says in the holy Quran:

Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) preached that there is only ONE GOD. But The Bible says if the prophet speaks in the name of other gods, must be put to death.

Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is mentioned by name in the Song of Solomon chapter 5 verse 16:

"Hikko Mamittakim we kulloMuhammadim Zehdoodeh wa Zehraee Bayna Jerusalem."

Translation:"His mouth is most sweet: yea, he isMohammad. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem."

In the Hebrew language im is added for respect. Similarly im is added after the name of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) to make it Muhammadim. In English translation they have even translated the name of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as "altogether lovely", but in the Old Testament in Hebrew, the name of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is yet present.

. DEUTERONOMY 33:2

He (Muhummed pbuh) shined forth from mount Paran (in Arabia), and he came with ten thousand saints. (Referring to the conquest of Makkah). (d)

DEUTERONOMY 32:21:

and I (God Almighty) will move them (the Jews) to jealousy with those (the Arabs) which are NOT A PEOPLE (a non-entity): I will provoke them (the Jews) to anger with a FOOLISH NATION," |the pre-Islamic Arabs)

Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) in NEW Testament

Gospel of John chapter 14 verse 16:

"And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever."

Gospel of John chapter 16 verse 7:

"Nevertheless I tell you the truth; it is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you".

"Ahmed" or "Muhammad" meaning "the one who praises" or "the praised one" is almost the translation of the Greek word Periclytos. In the Gospel of John 14:16, 15:26, and 16:7. The word 'Comforter' is used in the English translation for the Greek word Paracletos which means advocate or a kind friend rather than a comforter.

Paracletos is the warped reading for Periclytos. Jesus (pbuh) actually prophesised Ahmed by name. Even the Greek word Paraclete refers to the Prophet (pbuh) who is a mercy for all creatures.

Some Christians say that the Comforter mentioned in these prophecies refers to the Holy Sprit. They fail to realize that the prophecy clearly says that only if Jesus (pbuh) departs will the Comforter come. The Bible states that the Holy Spirit was already present on earth before and during the time of Jesus (pbuh), in the womb of Elizabeth, and again when Jesus (pbuh) was being baptised, etc. Hence this prophecy refers to none other than Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

Gospel of John chapter 15 verse 26:

"But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me."

Gospel of John chapter 16 verse 12-14:

"I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth is come, he will guide you unto all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me".

Jesus said. He shall glorifyme", He shall Testify me".

Mohammad (PBUH) is the only one after Jesus whoTestifies and Glorifies Jesus (PBUH) as exactly as Jesus (PBUH) prophesized.

Jesus (PBUH) said there will come many false prophet after me, but the true prophet will be the one who prophesies come true. Read the holy Quran ( the words of God Almighty ) and the prophesies by Prophet Mohammad (PBHU) which fullfiled exactly as its prophesized 1400 years ago.

Read prophesies of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

The proofs and Evidences for his prophethood is in the holy Quran and his prophesies in world religious scriptures.

Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is prophesized in Christianity

Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is prophesized in Judaism

Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is prophesized in Hinduism

Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is prophesized in Buddahism

ANSWER 1:Muhammad (peace be upon him)/pbuh was the last Prophet of Allah who preached the monotheistic religion, Islam. Muhammad pbuh was a man who was perfect in all aspects whether his habits, his speech and his actions and it is him whom we Muslims are told to follow. His conduct even with his bitterest enemies was astonishing. e.g: After years of mockery, deceit, torture (physical and mental), waging wars against Muslims, banishments and other oppositions, Muhammad pbuh forgave everyone when he conquered Mecca peacefully i.e: it was a war, won without fighting or any resistance.

He was revealed the Quran in the span of 23 years as a source to guide humanity till the end of time. And by the Grace of Allah, the Quran (with all due respect) unlike the Bible or Torah hasn't been changed since the last 1400 years. every letter is the exact same as it was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w). So this is a point to be noted here. Where the Torah and Bible were corrupted by Popes and the church officials only within the first few 100 years of their revelation, the Quran hasn't! And for the people who claim that the Quran was text, written down by Muhammad (s.a.w), just read it once and then tell me that can such depth and knowledge be penned down by a man? Obviously NOT.

As for Muhammad (s.a.w), he brought forth (by the Will of Allah) one of the greatest expanding religions of all time. Not only that, he told us to refrain from evil deeds (violence, usage of intoxicants, illegal sexual intercourse etc..) and now, after 1400 years, science is beginning to agree with what Muhammad (s.a.w) told us to do centuries ago.

ANSWER 2:Muhammad did many things. Muhammad established the religion of Islam, preached about Allah, claimed that he received revelations from Allah through as angel called Jibriel, he formed an army of men lead many wars, killed many lives and died after being poisioned by the Jewish woman whose husband and her relatives were killed by Muhammad.

In his personal life, Muhammad had more than 12 wives and more than 50 women as his partners. He married his own daughter-in-law (Zinaba) after making his adopted son divorse her. He married the 9-year old Iesha as his youngest wife. Many Muslims regard Muhammad as an example to follow!

Prophet Muhammad was sent by Allah to deliver the message of truth to the people and to lead them to salvation. To realise this task, Prophet Muhammad had to adopt a number of different techneques. He preached secretly to the people of Makkah and then preached openly. To prove his authenticity, he had to cut the moon in two pieces and present other pieces of miracles. To escape the torture which his foollowers were facing in Makkah, he emigrated to Madinah. Then, after establishing his government, he had to counter the threat of the pagans of Makkah and hence the wars. So all his actions were directed towards spreading the message of Islam
