Lord God why have thou forsaken me?
Another answer:The final words of Jesus on the cross as recorded in John's gospel were, "It is finished." (John 19:30).In Matthew 27:46 He says " E′li, E′li,la′ma sa·bach·tha′ni?" that is "my God my God why hast thou forsaken me" He was quoting the 22nd Psalm which depicted theCrucifixion. Everything in the life of Jesus was prophesied in the Old Testament, from His birth to His second coming.
In John 19:30 right before he died he said, "it is finished" meaning the Law, the old covenant, the first dispensation was over. He had fully fulfilled the law.
Acts 1
4And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. 5For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. 6When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? 7And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. 8But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. 9And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
Great question! :)
One account of Jesus' ascension can be found in the Book of Acts:
When they had gathered together they asked him, "Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?" He answered them, "It is not for you to know the times or seasons that the Father has established by his own authority. But you will receive power when the holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." When he had said this, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him from their sight. Acts 1:6-9 NAB
The Gospels
Matthew's Gospel ends with The Great Commission (Mt 28:16-20) but makes no explicit mention of the ascension. Mark, however, makes mention of the ascension after the commissioning of the eleven (cf. Mark 16:14-20) Luke also makes mention of the ascension after Jesus' appearance to the disciples in Jerusalem (cf. Luke 24:36-53). In the Gospel of John, Jesus refers to his ascension as an event yet to take place while speaking with Mary Magdalene:
Jesus said to her, "Stop holdingon to me, for I have not yet ascended to theFather. But go to my brothersand tell them, 'I am going to myFather and your Father, to myGod and your God.'" John 20:17 NAB

According to Mark's Gospel Jesus said to his Father, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me," just before he died. This is also followed by Matthew's Gospel.
According to Luke's Gospel Jesus said to his Father, "Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit" and then he died.
According to John's Gospel, Jesus simply said, "It is finished." and then he died.
The Bible doesn't say that one of the theives went to hell, but that the other thief went to heaven. People just assume that he went to hell because he was a theif. The reason that the other thief went to heaven was because he believed Jesus.
The Bible doesn't say the criminals' names. There were two, but at the end of one of the criminal's life, he believed that Jesus was Lord and he went to Heaven with Jesus.
He did not say that.
AnswerThe gospels say that Jesus rose from the grave on the third day - Sunday. The passages in which Jesus rose to heaven are called the ascension, and are only found in Luke's Gospel and Acts of the Apostles. Luke says that Jesus was seen by the disciples to ascend bodily to heaven on the evening of the same day as his resurrection from the grave (Luke 24:51) - Sunday.Acts of the Apostles, written by the same author but some time later, says that Jesus remained on earth for forty days after his resurrection from the grave and was then seen by the disciples to ascend bodily to heaven. Acts is not sufficiently specific about exactly how many days the risen Jesus was on earth to say which day this was.
0-30s. If you're referring to how long he was in heaven before that, the Bible doesn't say.
