THE Quran is divided into thirty parts for ease of recital, the idea being if you recite one part per day you could complete the recitation in one month.
BUT that is only for the sake convienience.
I think you were trying to refer to the Meccan revelation and Medinian revelation.
WELL some parts of the Quran and even some whole chapters were revealed in Mecca and ohers in Medina.
However the present day Quran is not divided into two such parts. MANY chapters cotain verses from both MECCAN AND MEDINIAN PERIOD.
The Quran ,as the last and final revelation from the Creator and Sustainer of the entire Universe , Alllah (swt) was revealed to the Holy Prophet (pbuh) in stages (23 years ) and has been put in divisions called Surahs ( Chapters )
There are 114 of them in all and they have been further divided ( for the sake of convenience , not under any saying or relation by the Prophet (pbuh ) into 30 parts .
Each chapter ( Surah ) further consists of verses ,some of the Surahs are long ( 286 verses) and some very small ( 3 verses )
