The idea is basically three-fold.

1. If evolution operates by Natural Selection then Natural Selection must account for everything (everything it claims to account for at least).

2. There are some things which Natural Selection cannotaccount for.

3. These things can be accounted for by the implication of an unspecified intelligence or 'designer'.

The main idea in intelligent design is the presumption that God created the world and all living things. Proponents of intelligent design look around at the beauty and order of nature and see what they regard as proof that the world was created by design and could not have come about by chance.

Some proponents support a 'Young Earth' creation, saying that the apparent design simply proves that God created the world just as we see it now, in a short period of time just a few thousand years ago. Others support an 'Old Earth' creation, accepting the scientific evidence for the age of the earth, but saying that God Guided the natural processes that resulted in the world as we know it today. At first, the most popular hypothesis was that God guided evolution, so that the eventual outcome was what he wanted all along. A more recent hypothesis is that God created the laws of nature such that the world we know today would be inevitable because of those laws.

The main idea in Intelligent Design states that because God created the universe, the created things may be assumed to contain vast wisdom in their beautiful and purposeful design. In recent decades, this wisdom has indeed been partially revealed, through increasingly powerful microscopes.Or the other way around - because we see so much purposefulness and complex design in living things, we conclude that God made them, not random processes.

What is Intelligent Falling?

Intelligent Falling is a parody of Intelligent Design. It says that gravity is not a mindless, natural force, but things fall because they are controlled by an intelligent, supernatural being. It's a joke so there is no actual theory of intelligent falling. It is meant to mock intelligent design, which is the belief that life was designed by an intelligent supernatural being.
