The Muslims have only TWO holidays, days of festivity and thanks giving. They are:

1. Eid-ul-Fitr celebrated on at the end of the month of Ramazan On the First of the month of Shawwal-the 10th month of the Hijra calender.

2. Eid-ul-Azha celebrated on the 10th of the last month of Hijra calender, Zil-hajja. It is the next day of the Day of Arfa-the Hajj Day.

The Muslims are also advised to stop their daily business when the first call (Azaan) for Jumma Prayer (Friday) is announced. They may resume their daily business after the Friday Prayer.

NOTE: There is no hard and fast rule. Different countries/nations may enjoy as many holidays as they like.

How many holidays are in a year?

there are lots of holidays, depending on each country and/or religion. you will need to check with a country to see that. usually holidays are given due to religious celebrations. for example Muslims will get a week off to celebrate Eid-ul-fitr, if they are in a Muslim country. hindus will get holidays to probably observe fasts. christians get holidays for Christmas and Easter. so you'll need to take all of that into consideratio. then there are secular holidays such as Independence and so on. in my country, we celebrate emancipation and Indian arrival day. so there are lots of holidays which are celebrated. right now my country has a month of holidays. others may have more or less.
