The 12 disciples were people that were called by Jesus to follow, listen, obey and spread the word. Jesus' disciples were: 1.) Simon (whom He named Peter) 2.) Andrew 3.) James 4.) John 5.) Philip 6.) Bartholomew 7.) Matthew 8.) Thomas 9.) James son of Alphaeus 10.) Simon who was called the Zealot 11.) Judas son of James 12.) Judas Iscariot. Note that several disciples had their names changed, or were given additional descriptive names or titles to distinguish one from another; for example, John and his brother James were often called the "sons of Zebedee," or the "sons of thunder."
