A priest's ability to consecrate and celebrate the Eucharist is provided to him in his priestly Faculties. This faculty is not impaired or removed simply because the priest is a sinner. In fact it would be a miracle if there were a Catholic Priest anywhere who was not a sinner.
So there is nothing wrong, different, or missing in a communion service that is led by a priest who has sinned. You should be able to take communion from this priest in full confidence that it is properly consecrated.
Should you take communion? Is a somewhat personal decision. The Catholic Church recommends that as long as the priest still has his faculty to celebrate mass, that you should feel comfortable participating in the mass and receiving communion.
Unlike other denominations, Catholics actually take what Jesus said take my body and eat. This is done every as well as every mass. ---- It depends on the church. Many protestant churches have communion every second Sunday. Remote areas without a permanent pastor may only have communion once a month, depending on whether they can get a pastor to visit.
You would need to check with your pastor, it depends on whether the baptism was valid, I do not know specifics abou the "United Church."
Catholics do not take communion, they receive communion.
NO if he was a lying boyfriend that's not going to go away
It is not a sin to not take communion. The sin is to not attend mass. Most people do take communion when they come of age if they decide to continue with the religion.
You can take communion any day even if you aren't Catholic.
It is not right to take communion in the state or mortal sin and a pastor should tell you that for your own spiritual good, or you would be commiting a greater sin by receiving your God in a sinful state, but as to getting right with your brother it depends on what the wrong is. I would assume the pastor has a reason for saying that as it is normal for humans to argue with one another on occassions. If i could not receive communion every time my sister and i fought... well we're sisters and dissagreements occur almost daily. forgiveness is key though and everyone craves reconciliation to one another. asking for forgiveness is a sign of humility and even if he doesn't, you should offer it sincerly. I forgive my sister for the wrongs she commits against me, with no grudge, I also ask for forgiveness when I realize i am wrong. I don't always get an answer, but my concience is clear and at peace. Goodluck!
it should be celebrated
In the Catholic Church, children typically receive their First Communion around the age of 7 or 8, after they have undergone instruction on the Eucharist. In some other Christian denominations, the timing of receiving First Communion may vary.
Nobody can take Holy Communion in a Catholic Church, you may only receive Holy Communion from the priest, and then only if you have been baptized in the Catholic Church and previously made your first Confession and First Holy Communion. Bottom line? An Anglican may not take communion in a Catholic Church.
Catholics do not 'take' communion, they 'receive' communion. Yes, you must be a baptized Catholic to receive communion in a Catholic Church. Also, you must have undergone instruction and received your First Holy Communion.
I think that u should take her just like a card or something small but yes, u should definitely take her something...
