If you believe that there is, then there is a heaven. No one knows for sure; no one has ever been able to come back from the dead to tell us about it, so if you believe that heaven exists, so be it.

_____________

There are dozens, if not hundreds of distinct answers to the question, and there is no evidence that all the possibilities have been or ever will be covered. This should tell you something.

_____________

Answer:

Yes... God's inspired Word speaks of "three" heavens.

* Within the earth's breathable atmosphere where birds fly is the first heaven.

"...fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven..." (Gen.1:20).

* Outer space, the limitless universe, where the stars of heaven are is the second one.

"...the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light..." (Isa.13:10).

* And Paul wrote of having a "vision" of "the third heaven" of God's throne.

"...I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord. I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up TO THE THIRD HEAVEN." (II Cor.12:1-2)

"...the Lord's throne is in heaven..." (Ps.11:4).

Oh, yes. There really is. You can read about it in The Bible, God's Word. All those who repent of their sin and believe on the name of the Lord Jesus and follow Him as Master, will spend eternity in heaven! Are you going to be there? "Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Rom. 10

It all depends who you ask... The following reflects my beliefs as a Bahá'í; other religions (or non-religious people) will have other opinions. And it is really hard to prove which point of view is the correct one. So, I believe there is an afterlife, that "heaven" and "hell" are not so much separate places, but states of the soul. In other words, if you missed certain chances here on Earth, you may be in a disadvantage in the afterlife. As for the place, it seems likely that wherever your soul is after death, it will be a separate world - in other words, not part of this Universe.

There is really no such thing as heaven. If there is, it would be where the ancients believed it to be, as they would have been guided by God.

Acts of the Apostles (1:9) tells of Jesus taken bodily up into heaven, through the clouds. Acts 7:55 tells of Stephen looking up into heaven to see Jesus seated on the right hand of God. If there is a heaven it is a physical place just above the sky. Of course, with the invention of the telescope and space travel, this ancient belief is no longer tenable and heaven is now ambiguously described as a "place or state of grace," with no defined location.
