Others view graven images as carved idols used for worship. In any case, it is stated that these are bad. No statue should be used to worship. There are verses in Exodus that talk about Israelites creating a golden calf to worship, a practice they picked up in their time in Egypt. God planned on destroying them, until Moses begged for mercy. Even then, those who did not come to Moses when asked whose side they were on were destroyed.

He paid for our sin on the cross outside the walls of Jerusalem, was buried in a tomb there and was resurrected there.
