Astral Projection is not in the Qur'an per se, nor is it discussed by any other important Islamic documentation since it is not a commonly discussed issue in the Islamic World. However, Astral Projection is usually associated with witchcraft and sorcery since witchcraft and sorcery are typically responsible for Astral Projection. Witchcraft and sorcery are explicitly prohibition by Qur'anic Verse 2:102, cited below. Those who do it outside of witchcraft, typically do it as an act of shamanism, ancestor worship, or elemental worship, all of which fall under the Qur'anic Prohibition on Shirk since all three are forms of Mushrikun/Polytheists.

And wretched is that for which they sold themselves, if they only knew.

Astral projection (or astral travel) is an interpretation of out-of-body experiences (OBEs) achieved either awake or via lucid dreaming, deep meditation, or use of psychotropics. Proponents of astral projection maintain that their consciousness or soul has transferred into an astral body (or "double"), which moves in tandem with the physical body in a parallel world known as the astral plane. Astral projection is often associated with the occult and the New Age movement. Astral projection refers to any form of out-of-body experience. Astral projection is similar to a lucid dreaming, which is very possible. A lucid dream is when you have a dream and are conscious of the fact that you are in a false reality. If you have ever felt pain in a dream, you know how powerful your subconscious is, which would make saying astral projection impossible very unreasonable. From what I understand, the practice of astral projection originated thousands of years ago, in the mountains of Asia. It has been a meditation practiced throughout history, but has become particularly prominent in recent years. As to whether or not astral projection is truly an out-of-body trip I cannot say. I have had a few experiences that I believe are similar to, if not the same as what many occult people refer to as "astral projection", but I honestly cannot prove whether the projection was all in my mind or not.

Astral projection is a form of psychic ability as are visualisation and manifestation, but that is all they have in common. One is not used in the work of another.
