Saved from what to what? Heaven and Hell has it's roots in pagan/heathen religions by once ignorant people long ago.
Reincarnation is the better answer. After all Jesus said one has to be 'born again!' That has been twisted so hard that most never recognize he was speaking of being born into another lifetime. On the other hand born spiritually is the ultimate goal and according to the 'Jesus myth' that is what is supposed to be attained in these lifetime's.
Perhaps it was his last lifetime and he did not have to be 'born again.'
