Philosophy means "love of learning". Christianity is a religion, which may or may not involve a love of learning. Some Christians love to learn, some don't. Christianity and philosophy may overlap, but Christianity is not a philosophy.

Another Answer:
As chritianity is not the only religion it is a philosophy. Reasons are given, and defended, christianity is endorsed and condemned. And the mental activity of searching for those reasons, and then editing them to purge the inconsistencies or errors, is philosophical reflection.

Your answer is bound in Acts 17 and Colossians chapter 2. There the Apostle Paul, instructs you that philosophy or by its real name philosophia is a doctrine of the Greeks. Philosophia is made up of two Greek words the first Philos, ,can mean love or great affinity for, but it can also mean religious or zealot towards.
The second word Sophos, which can mean simply knowledge or wisdom. However, you must remember that this doctrine was contrived in Greece, therefore your answer lies in that location and that time frame. The people of Athens had many gods and goddesses, but none matched the goddess for which Athens itself took its name (Athena). Athena is also the goddess of Wisdom or Knowledge. So the philos - sophos were those who were religious zealots of Athena, many of their schools operated at or near here temple of Athena in Athens. Philosophy or in its more accurate term Philos-Sophos is its own doctrine, which is based upon Metaphysics and Dialectics as given to Aristotle by the Oracle of Delphi.
Christianity is therefore not philosophy as philosophy is itself a doctrine as explained by Paul in Colossians chapter 2. The reason this gets confused is because the believers in philosophia doctrine worked diligently to change the meaning of the word philosophia so it would eventually meant doctrine. Since the Sophists (believers in philos sophos doctrine) were the educators of the day, they held in their hand the power to force change in the meaning of the word.
That change rings true with the philos-sophos of today who hold charge over the majority of education systems in the world. However, now that you are aware that philosophy if actually the Greek word philos and sophos placed together and you know what they mean, you understand that Christianity could never be philosophy as one is an apostleship to Christ and the other a dedication to a doctrine devised by men, as stated by the Apostle Paul. Some research will provide you more understanding as those systems known as Communism, Socialism and Progressivism, are all based upon philosophia doctrine, as taught by Zeno and later Hegel.
Christianity is the belief that Christ was Emmanuel as spoken at the mouth of the prophet Isaiah (chapter 7). That he did come to this world in the flesh, and that he did defeat death of the soul by becoming the one an only perfect sacrifice for all time for the sins of flesh mankind. Christ did not replace the law, he fulfilled the law and prophecy. The sacrifice of animals was taken out of the way and nailed to the cross of Christ. For Christians there is a perfect sacrifice for their sins (Christ), who is also their mediator and advocate to the Father (the Lord God of Israel). A mediator and advocate is like having a lawyer who stands between you and the Judge only in this case the sentence he defends you against, is the death of your eternal soul. The law has not changed and remains in effect even until today (not one jot or tittle shall in no wise pass... Christ's words) Some pretty heavy stuff but that's the truth of it without all the sugar coating. You will find your evidence written in the 20th chapter of the book of revelation and 1 John 2:1. Just remember Christ is no push over, he can spot a faker a mile away. You must be sincere in your actions or Christ will not be your advocate.
Those who believe in philosophia doctrine (metaphysics and dialectics), well they will have to let Aristotle, Plato, Hegel and Marx speak for them at their trial (judgment) lets see how that works out for them in the end.
Now you have the evidence you saught, continue to keep digging on this subject

They certainly did. As anything in history, there is nothing new under the Sun and everything owes something to their predecessors.
The Romans adopted the main Greek schools of philosophy of their time: Stoicism and Epicureanism. With the advent of Christianity Neo-Platonism became popular.
