In the figure of Peter, Acts has shown continuity with Jesus' ministry of healing and preaching. In Stephen, Actshas shown continuity with Jesus' death.
Raymond E. Brown (An Introduction to the New Testament) says that the death of Stephen in Acts matches closely the death of Jesus in Luke. Both accounts speak of the Son of Man at the right hand of God (Luke 22:69; Acts 7:56); both have a prayer for the forgiveness of those who are effecting this execution ( Luke 23:34a; Acts 7:60); both have the dying figure commend his spirit heavenward (Luke 23:46; Acts 7:59).
Just as Jesus' death was not the end, because the apostles would receive his Spirit to carry on the work, so also the death of Stephen was not the end, for observing is a young man named Saul who will continue the work of Stephen.

A:According to the author of Acts, the apostles in the book were the same disciples who accompanied Jesus in his mission, so they would have been very aware of details in the life of Jesus. However, Hans Joachim Schoeps (Das Judenchristentum) says that in reality Acts is only a retrospective view of Christian origins written by one party - the winners. He says that Acts cultivates the creation of legends and reshapes persons and events according to its own standards. So it may be true that the characters such as Peter and his fellow apostles knew many specific details about Jesus, but care should be taken in believing everything in Acts of the Apostles. Schoeps says Acts has been believed much too readily.
the new testament, and if your unfamiliar with the bible that would be books like, but not limited to, Mathew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts of the Apostles etc. Since this is the only written record of Jesus's life (about the same as Harry Potter and Santa) it's doubtful Jesus existed.
You may be referring to Saul (later Paul) in Acts 9.
