The question should be; "how populated will the heaven be?" When people die, they don't immediately go to heaven or hell. They still have to wait for the Day of Judgement to come, is you believe in it. Anyway, when people die they have to spend their time in their graves or wherever we human beings have disposed off them. Two angels descend upon them and ask them questions about how they spent their lives. did they get the message of God and did they follow it? ( They know but they still want to hear it from the person who has passed from this world and is ready to go to the next, so that the person can reaize what he did when he was alive) If they pass the questions, Good people enjoy restful sleep in a cool, pleasant, scented surrounding. Those who cannot answer the angels and are evil people face the horrors of the grave or wherever we have sent them to decompose. These bad people are tortured by the ground and its horrible insects and reptiles, snakes and lizards. They can experience everything, they cry and call out for help but we cannot hear them, and we cannot see it. This is not the plot of a Horror movie. Its true. Death is nothing but time spent in a "waiting room" in anticipation of meeting God and answering some serious questions. What sort of "waiting room" a person ends up in, is totally upto him or her. There was a graveyard keeper who revealed that once he was digging an old grave to remove the bones and make space for another body due to lack of space in the graveyard. When he opened the coffin, he was stunned to see that the body of a girl, who had been buried several years ago was still intact and a sweet scent was coming out of her body and she looked like she was fast asleep. He immediately shut the coffin and covered the grave again. Such is the condition of people who are good when they die. Coming back to your question the population o heaven will only be decided when we meet God and He decides which one of us deserves to populate the Heaven. Nobody has an answer to that. Nobody really knows the mysteries of the world of the dead and nobody can fully explain. There are millions of innocent children who have a promise from God to go to Heaven, and if you dig their graves , you might find only their bones. That does not mean they have been punished. The girl I mentioned may have made special efforts to follow God and therefore nothing could touch her. I think its safe to say that when we die all our souls go to a "waiting room", to wait for the Day of Judgment. Some people get to wait in "privilege clubs". Others have to wait in "Houses of horrors". Only 144,00 men who were not defiled by women. Revelation 14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads. 14:2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps: 14:3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. 14:4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. When we die our souls are lifted , we stand at the holy gates and if your name is written in the book of life then yes you get to go to heaven. If not then you go to hell and burn for eternity. We are not waiting around in some waiting room waiting for the Messiah to come back.
