There is more than one promise that Christ gave. In John 14:2,3: "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." In Luke 24:49: "And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high." In accordance with Luke, we see in John 15:26.27: "But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning." Therefore Jesus is actively involved in the promise of sending the Holy Spirit. Jesus promises peace and overcoming as well: "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." John 16:33. He promises to be with His true followers, as they go forth at tell of the Good News: " Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." Matthew 28:19,20. As we read through the four Gospel accounts, we find many promises in Christ. Peter also said, for the help of true followers of Jesus Christ: "According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust." 2 Peter 1:3,4.

Why do you call Jesus the body of Christ?

I am not sure who is calling Jesus the "body of Christ", but no, Jesus is not the body of Christ. Believers in Jesus around the world are the body of Christ (Romans 12:5, "...so we (believers), being many, are one body in Christ." Also see I Corinthians 12:14-20; Ephesians 1:22-23.

What is Jesus Christ's middle name?

Jesus Christ has many names, but none are considered middle names. Officially, Jesus has no middle name as that wasn't a tradition in ancient Hebrew culture. Also, Christ is not Jesus's last name. Christ comes from cross. He died for us on the cross. Hence, Christ, Jesus Christ. No middle name, no last name really. Just our Savior, for the believers and non-believers.

How do Jesus' life death and resurrection make our lives meaningful and relevant?

OpinionIt is hard to say just how Jesus' life, death and resurrection make our lives meaningful and relevant. After all, people had meaningful and relevant lives long before the time of Jesus. Moreover, many non-believers also haVE meaningful and relevant lives, even today. Perhaps some Christians feel they can not have a sense of purpose in life without their religion.

Why did Obama break campaign promise?

Sometimes the necessity of the office makes you realize that you can not keep all of the promises that you made while campaigning... Nothing new there. Generally all politicians make way too many promises. If you are looking for specific promises he broke by him there are many, they all do it. Hold them to it when they run again! When I vote I look to past performance and don't listen to promises.
