"Indigenous religion" is a contextual phrase. It does not mean anything without specifying a region to which the religion is indigenous to. As a result, a comparison is rather difficult.

In comparison to locally developed faiths that were never evangelized such as African Folk Religions, Shenism, Aboriginal Australian and Polynesian religions, etc. Hinduism is not that much different at a basic level. However, Hinduism has holy texts and unifying themes across larger distances and in disparate populations.
