Mother Cabrini was born in Italy. As a sister, she was sent to the United States by the pope to work with the numerous Italian immigrants to the country. She became the first citizen of the United States to be canonized as a saint.
Of course she was baptized. She would never have become a sister and then a saint had she never been baptized.
