Christ is a Greek word meaning "Anointed One"; and is used to refer to Jesus of Nazareth; whom Christians believe to be the son of God. Many of Jesus's early followers were Greek.
The term "Christian" was first used in the Greek city of Antioch (now in Turkey) as a pejorative term for the followers of Christ; eventually it became the accepted name for a follower of Jesus. Therefore in Greek "Christianity" means "The way of the followers of Christ"
