When you define a ministry there are two views to consider, one is worldly and the other is spiritually. I believe that this question has to deal with the spiritual. A ministry in spiritual terms is a service.
According to Ephesians chapter 2 and verse 10 says's "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
This means that every believer in Christ has been created to do good works. Meaning that each believer has a gift to use for the service (ministry) to God. One cannot get involved in a ministry (spiritual) until he/she has been converted (born again) in Christ.
After that has happened, this is where I believe the questioner asked their question. How can I find my ministry? Generally, God gifts his people for service. We just have to find it. Another question would be how? This is an area where answering this question can help.
Individuals need to remember that God calls you but may want you to be in training (learning) before revealing what ministry he wants you actively involved in. Paul had to wait for three years before God began to use him.
If you have no clue into what ministry (service) you have been called to do you can do some of the following to help you decide:
1. Be active in your local church weekly attendance in a Bible study group and worship.
2. Weekly midweek services.
3. Daily prayer
4. Daily scripture reading
If you continue to do the above, the Holy Spirit will begin to work in your life and direct you to the service (ministry) to which you have been called to do. For some, it is by trial and error. If you are called to be a teacher for example, what age group should you teach? You can start where your heart is leading you. Maybe a children's group. Or an adult group. Start somewhere. If you feel uncomfortable, then that age group is not for you. If you should be excited each week in preparing to teach a specific group, then that may be your area of ministry for teaching. You can do this for other gifts too. You may receive confirmation of your gift by others. Be open for this confirmation. This is another way for God to communicate your gift and ministry to you is through others in the church. You always like to receive spiritual confirmation of your gift through other spiritual persons those in the church as well as outside the church.
How will I know that I am in the right ministry? Easy. Your heart yearns to do whatever it takes to perform your ministry. Jeremiah had his heart burn if he did not proclaim the God's message. The same is true for you. You will not get burned out doing this ministry. You get excited in doing it. That's when you know where God wants you to be. Can God change your ministry over time? Yes. Be open to his leading. Remember, he will always gift you in doing whatever ministry he wants you to do.
There are over 20 spiritual gifts mentioned in The Bible. All believers have at least one or more gifts. These gifts are given to us by the Holy Spirit. As we become more faithful to the Lord, the Holy Spirit will guide us into our ministry.
One more piece of advice, each person does not have the same ministry. Each persons gift will be different. This is true for men and women. Usually, God will gift the husband and wife with gifts that complement each other. Where one is weak in an area the other is strong in that area.
God calls every Christian to share the Gospel, worship, give, and help those in need. However, each Christian has a personal ministry (service) or gift that he wants you to use for him.
There is a wonderful tool that can help individuals to discover their spiritual gift. It's the Discovering Your Spiritual Gifts by C. Porter Wagner. This tool examines all aspects of your life. You answer each question based on your feelings at that moment. The results will list your top three to five areas of gifts. This can help you in finding where God wants to get involved in a ministry. Ask your pastor how you can get a copy.
Do not get upset if you do not know your gift now. Be patient. The Lord will lead you always in the right direction. Continue to be faithful and I can guarantee you will be involved in the ministry he called you to do.

It is difficult to state the qualities to lead others because every person is different and either leads or follows differently. Typically a leader is someone who is headstrong and determined. Trying to define these qualities can mean different things to each individual person.
